Amongst an array of modern heresies is the teaching that the modern State of Israel is in some way synonymous with the Israél of the Bible, God's Israél. However, the only similarity is the name Israél, apart from which there is no connection at all.

As we see from the above scripture, God's Israél consists of those who walk according to the rule of crucifixion and new creation, having been crucified with Christ [Galatians 2:20]. Through which they have been crucified to this world and this world has been crucified to them. They, together with all Israél, desire "a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for He hath prepared for them a city" [Hebrews 11:16]. These are they (unlike that unbelieving generation [Hebrews 3:10]) who through faith have entered into His rest [Hebrews 4:1-3], which is the true promised land.

Ask yourself these questions.

   a. For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh: But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God.
